Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 6

Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 6 is the sixth episode that ends with the "Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared" series. It was uploaded on June 19th, 2016.

Synopsis[]

Yellow Guy learns how to have dreams in his last lesson directed by Lamp. On the other hand, Red Guy exposes his creativity in front of other people who look identical to him, but everything turns crazy with Yellow Guy's cruel and vile father, Roy.

Summary[]

The lamp ignoring that Yellow Guy should sleep instead of hearing his song

The episode starts off with Yellow Guy in bed, looking at a scrapbook of his friends, crying. He tells his friends he misses them and goes to sleep. The lamp comes to life, and against Yellow Guy's wishes, he begins teaching him about dreams. As the song comes to a close, Yellow Guy begins drowning in oil as he yells out "NO MORE SONGS!", before waking up. But as he wakes up, the Lamp says he's having a bad dream, and he drowns in oil for real.

Someone at work watching Red Guy’s nonsense

The episode then shows Red Guy, working at an office job, with other Red Guys surrounding him. One Red Guy asks him to file some files, and Red Guy says it would be funny if one of the files came to life and began singing. He makes a short song for the file, but the other Red Guys are not amused, finding it boring.

Later on, Red Guy is at a bar with more Red Guys, and he gets up (no longer wearing a business suit), and turns on a radio he brought, upsetting the other Red Guy who was already playing the piano. Red Guy then begins to sing the creativity song from DHMIS 1, but as the song goes on, the other Red Guys begin to boo him off the stage. But Red Guy notices Roy in the back of the room.

A can of spinach above Red Guy’s bed

Red Guy then finds himself in a dark room, and after exploring around, he finds a large machine that shows Yellow Guy still being sung to by the Lamp. Red Guy pushes a button, and the Lamp is quickly replaced by the Clock from DHMIS 2. Red Guy presses more buttons, summoning all the other past teachers from previous episodes (besides the Notebook). Duck even makes an appearance. As Red Guy keeps pressing the buttons, new teachers show up, upsetting Yellow Guy.

The recreation of Sketchbook performing his song

Red Guy tries to turn off the machine, but each button he presses just creates a new character, as Yellow Guy goes more and more insane. Roy then reaches out to Red Guy from behind, his arm stretching out very long. Red Guy then follows a cord that leads to a plug, and he tells Roy "I wonder what will happen." before he pulls it.

The final scene shows Red Guy, Yellow Guy, and Duck all back together, but now in different colours (Those being their favourite colours from DHMIS 1). The calendar switches from June 19th to June 20th, and the notebook opens up, singing just like at the start of the whole series.

This episode has very disturbing credits, it takes place in the control panel room with a bunch of smoke, the clarinet noises make it similar to the first DHMIS. Roy is also hidden in the darkness if you look closely.

    Royincorner

Once brightened up, you can see Roy standing eerily in the corner of the background

  • When Yellow Guy drowns in oil, it looks like the same as the liquid used to ruin his clown picture from the first episode
  • The coat that Red Guy is wearing is the coat he wore in the final part of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 5
  • Notebook is only shown at the end of the episode, and not appearing with the other teachers as they sing about themselves.
  • Notebook, Duck Guy, Tony, and Red Guy can be seen inside Yellow Guy's head, as frames.
  • When in Yellow Guy's head, the Notebook can be seen on a picture on the wall, but the Notebook's seen with legs. The Notebook was never seen with legs from the past.
  • The scene in which Red Guy's walking while shocked on a checkerboard floor might be a reference to Eraserhead, in which one scene involves Henry's walking in a similar stance to Red Guy on a checkerboard floor. (But Eraserhead is a surrealist horror film, so this could be a possibility because Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is also horror.)
  • Clarinet noises from the first Don't Hug Me I'm Scared's Credits we're reused for this one's credits however, this one's more aggressive or eerie sound to make it fit the dark room.
  • This was the 5th and final episode with a character or a part of a character in the credits. The first was Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 2 with maggots and Yellow Guy's decaying hair, the 2nd is Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 3 with Malcom's burning head and a human, the 3rd is Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 4 were Colin the Computer's screen is appeared, and the 4th is Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 5 with Red Guy in a suit and suitcase walking out of the phone booth.
  • The file character that Red Guy has made up was shown with all the other unused teachers, singing the same song that Red Guy was also singing.
  • In the 'Dream World', many references the past episodes can be seen, such as the entrance to Colin's digital world, the checkerboard's path and the clapperboard from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 3, the telephone box at the end of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 5, the chicken picnic, Malcom's head and the rainbow cloud from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 3 and the 'future' machine from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 2.
